Hmm. I read somewhere that Simon Pegg (Spaced, Shaun of the Dead) was supposed to be in MI3. Which is probably the only reason I'd go see this. I don't... see.. him... anywhere...
"I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear's path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." ~Frank Herbert, DuneMy slice of the web

Cheesy, overdone and somewhat camp.

Certain setpieces look like they have been lifted from recent Bond movies in the hopes that we might have forgotten them, too.

The White House continues to ramp up its torture infrastructure through outsourcing. Will the villian be played by a small dog?

very cheesy. i just hope that the trailer was purposely made to look crappy.

Why does he get knocked sideways into the car when the explosion is directly behind him?

And yeah, it looks pretty average.

Yeah, I saw that and was wondering "did someone fail highschool physics, or is part of the plot something that bends space/time/laws of physics sort of thing"

all in all, I won't be seeing it till its on cable and I have nothing else to do that night.

I have to say that the white hair bad guy looks somewhat cheesy and overdone.

I love Philip Seymour Hoffman. I would totally have his children.

Hell yes. I can't decide whether I liked him more in State and Main, Punch Drunk Love, or The Big Lebowski. The guy's range is incredible.

Check out Capote if you want to see some range. One of my favorite films starring him is Punch Drunk Love (hell, one of my favorite films ever) but I wouldn't say the performance was a noteworthy entry in his career. I think he had a more demanding role in Magnolia.

I definitely want to see Capote. He didn't have much of a role in Punch Drunk Love, but I saw it right after I saw State and Main, and the contrast was incredible.

That looks cool. Its been a while since the last good over-the-top action movie came out. (Bad Boys II)

The problem I have is that Mission Impossible started out as a sort of spy film. MI2 wasn't good IMHO (what the hell was up with the constant face removing thing?).

I enjoy random action movies but I enjoy spy movies better. I guess I just want MI to be more like the first one.
