Odd obsessions

Original Post
Does anyone have any odd obsessions? Mine is progress bars. I love them. The cooler the bar the better. Once I made a program process about 100x more data than it needed to just so I could see my progress bar.
Shoes. However, I only own 1-2 pairs and prefer to keep it that way. I just continue to obsess over them for the duration of their usage.
I also think I'm becoming a little obsessed with these Monster Energy Drinks. I just noted in my last thread how I scored about 20 free ones on campus..and I've gotten about 14 more. Now I can't stop drinking them.

I cannot rest. Except when sleeping at night, I always need to keep my brain engaged in some activity: at the same time I am:
-studing for my next ray-tracer
-doing my thesis
-studing for 1 exam at the uni (statistic)
-programming a tool for another exam
-studing C#
-painting a drawing for a friend of my gf
-writing a fantasy novel
-composing a guitar song
-reading a couple of books
That and something else here and there. The result is that I don't do a break longer than a couple of days since many years, and I'm very very tired.

I'm with Salsa on energy drinks. Except I prefer Rockstar over Monster. Although I will drink monster if Rockstar isn't avaiable.
And Camel cigarettes. I won't smoke anything else. As much as I despise menthol cigarettes, I'll smoke a Turkish Jade or Camel menthol over a regular of any other brand.

I am a shopaholic... worse than a girl ;)
Oh and uh.. there's this dude named Dave Astle at my work.. i'm obsessed with his mom.

Monster is The Goodness! Although, if Bawls had more of a punch to it, it would easily be the only energy drink I'd ever pass over my lips again.
I have some genuinely "odd" obsessions... stuff like cleaning the display on my cell phone dozens of times a day, tapping a door handle with my knuckles before opening the door, closing car doors with my toes... and probably a bunch of other stuff that I've not consciously noticed for a while.
Back in Ye Olde Days, I used to have a fixation on cryptic messages. I absolutely loved the little startup progress output from games like Raptor. It was my single goal in life to write software complicated enough that I could put cryptic messages into its output. (Now I've accomplished that, and it's lost a fair bit of its magic... but I still like doing it.)

My obsesions (in no particular order):
probably more, but those are the ones I remember right now.
- nVidia Graphic Cards
- AMD CPU's
- Sony Electronics specially if the word Playstation is part of the product's name
- Dr Pepper (which is a rare item here)
- European Women (Italian and Polish the most)
probably more, but those are the ones I remember right now.
Prices of groceries. I find myself unable to not spend time calculating what the best deal is. I recently found that a two-pack of Albertson's paper towels costs $0.99 while a three-pack of identical Albertson's paper towels costs $2.97. I can't help but wonder what kind of people buy the three-packs...

I was the same way, I would only smoke Camel Special Lights. They are the best, I used to smoke about a pack a day. I switched to Marlboro Ultra Lights, and now I only smoke exactly one cigarette a day. Going from one to none is the last step.
I guess my point is that Marlboro Ultra Lights are so disgusting I would rather quit than keep smoking them. It's a lot easier than cold turkey.

I've heard that theory before but never actually tried it. Perhaps I should, lol.

boots
and not just any boots, and certainly not on my feet.
this is a start, but not quite there. Black with no fuzzy stuff is better.

I line things up so that straight edges fall together...
For example, I could be watching TV and I'll catch myself trying to line say a toe up with the edges of the screen.
I've no idea why I do it, but I do it far too much...

Oh my.. me to.. I can spend a long time trying to form my thumb profile into a straight line, any extremity which is available is ripe for lining up with something. I think intensive graphics editing might be the cause.
I collect books of various kinds, both ficton and non-fiction, and while I'm very specific about which I collect, I don't know which criteria I use to select books. The books I've collected so far fall into many catgories: Isaac Asimov (fiction and non), History (mostly ancient, but a few up to the civil war), Science/Math ('Origin of Species', 'The First Idea', 'Semantics: A Reader', Math Texts, Algorithms, Microbioloy, Digital Hardware Design, Electronics, etc), and Misc (an old edition of 'Robert's Rules of Order', a few law books, random fiction such as the 'Complete Sherlock Holmes'), and more. I have so many that I'm literally running out of floor space in my room - I have a path from the door to my computer to my bed to my closet, and that's about it. It's still a decently sized path, but, ever shrinking as it is, I fear that I may soon become trapped.
The saddest part is that I haven't read most of them. I've read all the Isaac Asimov fiction, but in just about every other category I've only read around 1/4 of the books all the way through and another 1/3 I've at least started. I really should make more time for reading, but I have a hard time doing so because it is much easier to absorb knowledge (at least in theory - I'm not sure it would stand up toa rigorous test) on the internet.

She looks like she has the legs of a unicorn.
(that's not a good thing in my book, if you're wondering)

I catch myself doing that sometimes, too.
Touching corners inside and protruding.
I get upset cause I can get any part of my finger against the inside point of a inside corner like inside of a box.
