Team name: Not really important right now. Will be chosen later, by the team. Project name: Some witty engine name. Again chosen later. Brief description: I'd like to try my hands on a C# 3D Game engine. I have previous experience writing some games in C++/DirectX and now I want something more structured and reusable - an engine for example. Since I got a job as a C# programmer recently, I'm interested in trying ManagedDX. So if there is anyone interested in researching and building a game engine, they are welcome to join. Target aim: Freeware Compensation: It's voluntary, no compensation Technology: Mainly C#, targeted at Win32. Maybe we can manage to integrate Tao/OpenGL to make it cross-platform. Also, if needed, some bottleneck modules can be written in C++, but I doubt this will happen ever or at least not until late in the project. Talent needed: C# Programmers mainly. People experienced with engines in other languages and willing to learn some C# are welcome too. Lately, when the engine reaches a usable state we'll probably need an artist or two for a demo game. Again, that's for the future. Team structure: Just me for now. I guess I'll be something like a project leader, if anyone else joins the team. Website: Not yet. I'll setup some forum if someone is interested in joining me. Contacts: Send me a private message or post here. Additional Info: Although I have some experience with creating games(and even managing a small team) I'm still a beginner. I expect to do a lot of research - on scene graphs, scene management, general engine structure, threading and what not. The main purpose is to learn. Learn a lot. At some point we may even drop everything and start from scratch using what we've learned before. The final product should be robust and easy to use.
