Project name: 43 Brief description: Basically the idea is making a client/server based version like some browsergame out there.Best example would be planetarion probably. It will contain all the basic known things like building, researching, shipbuilding, conquering planets,... with an advanced navigation system. i thought of something like eve probably,so planets are in solarsystems.solarsystems are linked through jumpgates. same with galaxies and solarsystems. The whole thing will not be in realtime, but using timeintervals like you know from browsergames. I started this thing few weeks back, just to get back into coding. but since its getting way too big, i thought i look for some people who might be interested to jump in, before i decide to drop it.^^ Well what i done so far is the very basic layout. - multithreaded server which handles clients with a small db as backend - basic chat functionality - basic gui - basic scene loading and switching - using tinyxml for scripts and protocol - basic openal integration Target aim: dunno really, gonna see where it goes Technology: Both Server and Client App are built using the wxwidgets framework. The Database is based on mysql5 with innodbtables currently. Client uses Ogre+cegui running in a window, openal, tinyxml. Currently developed using vs8,but shouldnt be too hard to port to other platforms. Talent needed: (semi)experienced Programmers in first place, for whatever part you interested in working on. Also some graphic artists,Webdesigners,Storywriters,Economydesigners,whatever.. would be nice. Team structure: well...me ^^ Contacts: ICQ 9243609 hydrotoxin@netcologne.de Additional Info: So this is what it currently looks like... 1 2 The ER model for a browser game i developed with some friends a while back on which the idea is based on. 3
