Team name: Dakurv. Project name: Lumixed 4E4 Brief description: A puzzle / action game modeled on a recent succesfull gameplay idea that what released on the psp portable system. I want to have the coding redone to have a totaly different gameplay so we can use the art that took me 3 months to develop to make some money. The ultimate goal is to sell it on game portals wich can generate a lot of money. I am open to your puzzle game ideas. As long as they can use the graphics already done or wouldt require too much additional work. Target aim: Shareware Compensation: 50% of the profits Technology: Multi-platform prefered but pc only is ok. Talent needed: Coding skills Team structure: Me and you :) Website: the game is 90% complete but we need to redo the coding . play the game here go further down to see most of the graphics that are developed. Contacts: stevebisson at@ hotmail dot. com or pm me Additional Info: The game mechanics needs to be changed so we can use all the arts that as been made to make some profits. The original game with the gameplay cloned from Lumines will remain free. We will market a game that use the same graphics / art / music / sounds / animation but different gameplay to make sure our heads are free of any legal doubts :) . I want this game to be on portals so it could mean good revenues. Feedback: ENCOURAGING ONLY [Edited by - sinx on December 19, 2005 2:01:39 PM]

I thought your game used your own game engine, allowing it to be totally modded using just XML?

Why do you want to redo the whole game but use the same artwork? And how is it 90% complete if all the code needs re-writing...

It all seems a bit strange - I thought you were wokring on another game with the same engine? Unless you need to replace the engine for some legal reason..?

Hey doohg,

I'll address some of your questions as you probably know I coded the demo game sinx is referring to.

The graphics can be modded but not the gameplay, which is the issue here.

Steve has made some great artwork for the levels and would like to profit from the work he's done. Neither of us want to release a game for profit which is such a blatant rip-off of a recent successful title but there are plenty of examples of games with reworked game-play to distance themselves from the original. That's what Steve would like this product to become.

That is a good point.

We may still. As always I'm struggling for time to code and can't keep up with Steve :) We had a very productive time together on this project though.

Hehehe. Theres certainly nothing sinister going on here, but my engine is Windows only and Steve would like a multi platform product.

i guess i was talking more about my workload :) 90% of the graphics / animation / music / sound fx are done.

i would have said 100% because i have 15 playable levels that are complete but since we are changing the gameplay im sure ill have to do another 10% of graphics and menus and what not.

so art 100% complete... coding 0% ;)

Come on coders this should not be too difficult. If you dedicate a steady amount of work this could be done in under a month. I cant believe that if i posted for help on a unrealistic project like a massive multiplayer rpg that as 0 work done on it , like 10 peoples would show interest even tho we all know it would never get done.

I guess well advanced realistic projects are no fun. :/

believe it or not even tho our game as been downloaded 3000 times from our web page alone and was hosted on many others we never got to face any legal issues. It even got into a foreign magazine so im guessing there will never be any legal issue with this project because the Lumines craze will pretty much be dead after xmas. There was a "revival" when the PSP was released in europe this september but its pretty much dying again :).

So no its notting about legal issues... more like a schedule thing.

I only used 4 levels for the free game.. there is a total of 15. I also used the least interesting ones. So a large chunk of it is still un-used original artwork.
