Morrowind Refresh rate question

I've been trying to play Morrowind (with all expansions) at 1024x768 (which doesn't seem to be supported by the game?). Either way, i installed Morrowind FPS optomizer to tweak the registry settings, etc, set it to 85htz, but the game for some reason seems to default to an unplayable 60 - 70htz. Anything I can do about this? B/c i'd love to play the game, i just get a headache from playing...:@ BTW, i have a ATI 9800Pro 128mb card. And the rest of my system can handle morrowind maxed out + AA full + ASF full ;P So...anyone else had issues like this? Cheers!

Check the refresh rate on your monitor?

Not FPS, Hz. The refresh rate is what hes having an issue with.

Its at 75 on my desktop @ 1280x1024 and it *does* support up to 85htz at 1024x768

Windows(XP especially) have the problem, cause its switches everytime to 60Hz in games. Cause of that there are override functions in graphic drivers or tools like RefreshRateFix. So you can force win to switch always to i.e. 85 Hz. But you must test it out, cause every monitor needs another setting.

OK, I know what you mean now. My refresh rate is at 60 right now, doesn't bother me too much. But I guess you notice I difference if you are used to higher refresh rates.

some kind old but would do the job
http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/ati-refresh-rate-fixer.php

or look in your catalyst settings, there is override option

and deactivate vsync if you want higher framerates as your refresh rate
