has anyone on this forum tried to load in an object from 3dstudio max made up of several objects? (like a person where the arm is one object, a leg another, etc). I can load each part in and display it correctly centered on 0,0 after running the vertexes through the translation matrix specified in the file and then doing my own translations to a -1 to 1 scale. If i do not scale it then the object comes out distorted. The problem is that once I scale it to -1 to 1 the object no longer has coordinates relative to the other object. I''m not exactly sure of the problem right now so it''s hard to ask for the answer, but if anyone has done what I''m trying to do send me an e-mail! e-mail mac33@dana.ucc.nau.edu

3D studio max uses a left hand coordanite system and opengl uses a right handed one. When you load your ase file replace ALL Z values with there negative value. This should work.

could you post a link to where I can learn how to do this? I am a Max user as well and would love to know how to scale the vertices or whatever is necessary
