Set depth bits to 16 rather than 32. Creates tearing problems from far away though.. You''d probably get a more appealing framerate. Give it a try

NeHe''s tutorials are very simpel, so I would say there is no way to speed them up ;-) You can optimize an engine and some complicated algorithms, but you rarely find those things in NeHe''s tutorials. Buy an nVidia card, and your OpenGL fun will double ;-)

tcs: I don''t agree that anyone that goes from a voodoo3 or lower card to an nvidia card would have there OpenGL fun double! I''d say quadruple!

Not everyone has $200 concealed in their pocket ya knows.. Having to buy a new vid card every 2 years is kinda pushing it..And if you were making a game in OpenGL, would you only build a piece of rubbish which only worked on your machine, & just assume that people who felt like buying your game would also be willing to buy a new computer just to play it?

Sure programming in OpenGL is fun, but some people would not find it to be so much fun if they had to pay that sort of money just to get it.
