If your not from the UK this may not make sence. I''ll be going to college soon, today while filling out my application form and re-reading my chosen subjects I noticed that I could do A-Level Computing or Computing at National Diploma level. I think I heard something about a National Diploma being equivelent to 2 A-Levels but I''m unsure. Could anybody shed a little light as to which is better, I mean like... What would be better for myself an aspiring game developer in training which also plans to go to university. Also why don''t they teach C++ at college? I know visual basic and know the basics of C++ and also know a bit about OpenGL. I''d prefer it if they taught quick basic and easy languages for part of the course then nearing the end started with C++. Many Thanks Alan IF YA SMELL... WHAT THE BEZZ IS COOKIN''''

If you have a national Diploma (probably NCC, go check this up) you can skip the 1st year of your Comp. Sci degree. That means you directly enter the 2nd year and you''ll spend only 2 years in Uni before getting your degree. With an A Level qualification, you''ve got to do the whole 3 years.

As for which is better, I don''t think there''s any difference. What I did was do a Foundation (akin to the GNVQ) and I''m now in my 1st year at University (and loving it). And I''m still able to kick the butts of many who''re doing their 2nd year.

On a side note, we''re so different. Look where I''m from. I feel lucky to be in the UK while you feel unlucky
