i was just wondering.... i have seen a few posts related to PS2 emulation and every reply has been a negative one. and i just wanted to know why? i personally have been interested in emulation for about 4-5 years now, and think it''s a really cool idea. and the thought of emulating the PS2 seems like a really cool idea. not just to profit from it, but to enhance one''s understanding of computer engineering and software programming. well that''s just my thought any reply''s would be great and let''s keep the posts respectable. Offcourse it isn''t impossible to emulate the PS2...it''s just that current PCs don''t have the power to do it, in fact, the PS2 is more powerful than almost every PC (not counting dual procs). Also, the PS2 is a very strange beast. To emulate it low-level is going to be very hard if you want to have correct timing and stuff. Emulating it high-level isn''t easy either, you''ll always have to update your emulator. Take Bleem! for example. Sure, it can play a lot of PSX-games, but it usually can''t play the new ones (I still can''t play FF7, FF8 and MGS normally, FF8 won''t even start on it (PAL-version)). There aren''t many games that work perfectly on it.

Why don''t you try to do a DC-emulator first?

And while we''re on this emulating-subject: How hard would it be to make an X-Box-emulator? I think it can be done and it''ll be easier than coding an PS2 or DC emulator. Any thoughts?
