Ok here''s the deal. I just installed Windows 98 (yes I know. I''m behind), and now when I get on the internet and open internet explorer, it says Cannot Find Server no matter what I do. I think there''s a problem with winsock and the wsock32.dll, but i''m not totally sure anymore. None of my internet applications work, and worst of all, I CAN''T PLAY TRIBES!!!!!! I''m accessing the net right now from my dad''s slow piece of... you know. So what do i do? Someone help me please

Assuming your network settings are correct (don't do this unless you have first checked your network settings and confirmed they are as they should be):

You might have the dreaded Winsock2 problem - Check your Windows folder for a directory called 'ws2bakup'. If you have one, restart in dos mode, then go to that folder and uninstall Winsock2 by running ws2bakup.bat. Restart in Windows again.

If it is a Winsock2 issue that should fix it and you will be able to use the net again. The only problem is I think some games require Winsock2, so IF THEY DON'T WORK you are a bit stuck - although you could try adding Winsock2 again by reinstalling one of the games that require it (just in case it was a problem with your previous installation).
