Ok, I thought this thing was really supposed to use ginger for the cure for cancer or some crap. Supposedly the inventor will be richer than bill gates after this and will effect how the world moves. I don''t believe it, but does anyone have pictures of this thing? --------------------------- "the only thing I ask, is that if my games get pirated, people must do a good job of it." - Erick

From what I''ve heard, it actually is a one-wheeled scooter.

Well Now,

I read somewhere on the net that someplace recieved a book on this "IT" and didn''t even know what was in the book... It''s eother some uper advanved technology (probably not). Or it''s just some attention seeking boffin who has a screw loose. Which one is more likely to be I ''ll let you decide, But I think it''s pretty obvious...

It is a scooter, here is the patent.

I really have no clue why on earth this would be revolutionary, better than the internet or the computer?

It must be one great scooter

How to say this.. well.. IT IS NOT A SCOOTER! Do you really think that Steve Jobs would say it''s a revolutionary invention if it was a scooter, which is already invented many decades ago..

But actually I think this is all just big hype and IT probably won''t be anything cool.

What the hell?

That things only got one pair of wheels in contact with the ground? (that''s what it looks like in picture) and what''s special about it? Easier to fall off? And wtf is nes talking about cancer for? And whatever happenned to the easter bunny?

...Ok, the last question was uncalled for...

Yeah, I''m with you AP.

What the hell is this, and where the hell did you hear about it? And BTW... The easterbunny got shot at about the same time as santa (who posted that pic? and where is it. It always makes me laugh )

I''d like to contribute to the off-topic''dness, but I have too many "important" things to say

about the ginger and cancer statement:
When I heard it on the news I thought it was an invention that''s supposed to cure cancer that used ginger.

Non-popularity: yeah, it isn''t really popular since the inventor is being very quiet and uptight about his invention.

One-Wheely-Thing: I have a feeling that it''s "revolutionary" because of the one wheel, but I don''t think it''s easier to fall off of. For some odd reason I have a feeling they did something to make it really hard to fall off of. Remember those remote control motorcycles?

Sounds freaky...

Is there any more information on this thing anywhere... Because the story on the news couldn''t have been "there is this inventor guy that says that he has invented something ingeniously revolutionary... but the bastard wont tell us what it is. Back to you Jim in the studio". But you never know over there in America (j/k )

Actually, that''s pretty much what fox6 news did.

The special thing about IT/Ginger is that it's damn hard to fall over because of its gyroscopic technology. They're calling this a personal transport vehicle, which in my mind would be like a car or truck or some other thing that could really be used to transport people. I consider a scooter a toy.

It's not that this particular invention can change the world, it's that the technology used in this invention can change the way some things are done in the world. For instance, I read in the patent documents that once it's powered on, it stands upright, perfectly balanced. Sounds pretty damn cool to me. At the same time, if these things could be made to be more like cars in that they have some sort of cover, I could see how they'd change the way things are currently done. For one, they take up much less space than a car. At the same time, imagine going 60mph on one wheel.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing IT/Ginger and how it works. The dude making it is no flake, so I'll be expecting something that is definitely groundbreaking.

Kevin

Oh yeah, if you want some articles on this, go to MSNBC and do a search for "Ginger".

Oooook, this sounds just a wee bit flaky. Personal transport device my ass. It''s a scooter. If it''s a scooter that can go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds, then there''s a serious lack of a restraint system. I know, I''m being very fecesious here, but htf is this "revolutionary"? And, if this is the big IT, wtf kinda name is "Ginger"? Ok, I gotta calm down...

I''m looking forward to this invention. I may save up for it instead of the xbox...if I find out when the damn thing is released. It would be cool to go to school in one of those. Going faster than my friends car on the sidewalk.

It''s not a scooter. Scooters have two wheels. Ginger has one.

And I wouldn''t expect to be able to go on a sidewalk with one of these. Not with the way the patent was describing it.
