Game developing Competition

Original Post
Hi, please, do you know about any good competition in game developing. I want to join something to give myself some motivation, but i've found only one - "horizontal shooter arcade with boss" which isn't very atractive for me. (I'm not interested in any offered prize). But I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thx and have a nice day
I run one on occasion, see the link in my sig "3H-GDC"
Ludum Dare had a 48 hour game competition every once in a while, but I can't find where everything went; it might be dead.

but I think it'll be awhile until the next one.
Hopefully that's not because of all of the complaints about judging. I'll gladly help judge the next one. (although I suspect I'll still make an entry even if it's not really an entry)

I started to get some griping from some random non-competitors an the last 3h-gdc about the judging being non-objective. Unfortunately they don't understand that there is no such thing as truely objective judging, and any attempts invariably lead to people feeling like they got cheated. People really need to reallize that the judging process is basically "whatever the hell I feel like" and then need to get over it. I've judged numerous competitions, both programming and otherwise, and I know what I'm doing.
Take a look at the TINS competition: http://amarillion.bafsoft.net/tins06/.
48 hours, 500KB size limit, given theme with random rules to make it interesting, enough people join so there is competitive spirit. Takes place in March, you only need to (somehow) use Allegro ([url]http://allegro.cc/[/url). Simple, clear, fun!

There was also a Java 4K contest (build a game in Java in 4K of bytecode + resources).
Edit: Would someone like a Lounge sticky thread of game programming contests?

And don't forget the gamedev.net contests page.
I competed in last year's imagine up, it's sponsored by Microsoft, which means a free version of visual studio .net, but they didn't give me my copy of Dungeon Siege II which was promised for making it to the 2nd or 3rd round. It isn't really game development, but AI competition all in C#

The requirement is to be enrolled in a college. I've got the code I created for last competition if anyone is interested in pairing with me for this year.
