I just bought a graphics card for my computer but I need to disable the on-board graphics capabilities on my mother board and I have no idea how to do that. All I can tell you is it's an eMachines T2260 with S3 Prosavage8 written somewhere in the specs.

Go into your BIOS and disable the on-board graphics driver. This is system-specific so I can't tell you the exact steps you're going to take, but a search in the support area of your hardware provider will most likely tell you what you need.
