hey I just download VC++ 8 and I cant get any of my directX programs to work. I added the directX files to the directory list but it still cant find a few headers (windows.h and some others). I searched the web and the help documents and couldnt find anything about setting it up for this... any help?

Did you install the Platform SDK?

I guess you are using the Express version. There is a page from the MSDN web site teaches you how to install the Platform SDK. Please follow it properly and remember to set up your system wise include paths properly.
