Ohhh how about some cold chilly arctic music? Isolation and Desolation. That's the right mood. http://www.aoikokoro.net/longebane/archieve/Breach%20the%20Desolate.mp3
I really felt the mood most of all about a third of the way in, when the percussion has its moment with the low strings playing the open fifth beneath it, which by itself is a good musical device to use in this case. The lack of a mediant leaves it feeling very spacious and vague. I like it. Hearing the whole piece the second time around I had a better grasp on the piece and I feel like I understood it better. I'm left with the overall impression that if that percussion cue was at the beginning, it would grab the listener's attention right away and the rest would be smooth sailing, because the remainder of the piece works. The instrumentation never gets too dense and it "breathes" well. Nice work.

Yeah, I had to listen to it a few times to see what it was doing and I like it better every time.

The percussion is pretty thin however, really detracts from the rest of the composition. Instead of punctuating it almost deflates sections. Do you know what I mean?

Otherwise, excellent work!
