Once you've downloaded Python from Python.org be sure to check out PyGame for some SDL bindings and Phil's PyGame Utilities for some game writing utilities and a tutorial.
Get ActiveState's ActivePython (you don't need to provide your contact information; just click next).
It comes with documentation, a simple IDE (Pythonwin), a graphical debugger (which is slightly buggy, but still better than pdb) and there's an excellent Python community on ActiveState.com.
As for your general helpnessness, the remedy to that is to start paying attention and applying yourself. If you're looking for something on the internet, is it not logical to Google it? If you find the website for Python, is it not logical that they would have a download link? Right on the front page? And shouldn't you click it?
Turn your brain back on. Everything's right in front of you, but you've given yourself an intellectual pass and chosen the path of laziness. If you don't change that, then you're wasting your time. Python can't overcome the total absence of effort.
Good luck.
