implementing an octree ?
heh I was just about to ask this myself...I know the theory but I''m not sure about the implementation.
What I do know is that you have to have a good data structure for the octree. And that each octree node contains a linked list of polygons that it contains as well as pointers to it''s 8 children. But how does an octree data structure really look like? If I can figure this out then I don''t think I''ll have problems.
(Sorry I didn''t answer your question there :p I guess I''m a lost soul just like yourself looking for answers.)

Check out this book, it has an excellent discussion on octrees and working source code in the included CD. Highly recommended

Check out GLvelocity (it''s a gamedev.net site).
It has some octree demos/engines, as well as a quick tutorial
