Hi there, I'm trying to figure out how to remove style info from certain parts of my site - I don't want to just get rid of the CSS files however as it's tied in with the theme I'm using. Specifically, I have an image that I want to use as a link, but the theme is adamant that all links should be underlined and have a ">>" character next to them - this ruins the formatting of the image in firefox 1.5 The page I'm having trouble with is here, the image I'm talking about is the middle one (international cart racing). Is there any way to get rid of the style without having to trawl through the existing css files? I'm not overly familiar with CSS. I've tried various combinations of but can't figure it out. currently the part in question looks like this: Any ideas?
"I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear's path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." ~Frank Herbert, DuneMy slice of the web

You should be able to override the link using the style tag.

Thanks for the tip, sadly it hasn't worked in this case :(
I'll keep playing around with it, at least I know I can override it now.

You can edit the file

themes/meta/css/userstyle-bg_paper.css

and line
#footer-area a:visited { border: 0; color: #fff; border-bottom: 1px dashed #ccc;}

to remove the underline.

The >> are coming from the image arrow2.gif which I'm still trying to find in the css.

Edit: themes/meta/css/pagestyles.css contains the style that applies arrow2.gif to the background. You're looking for:
#contentarea-middle2 .node a, #contentarea-middle2 .node a:link, #contentarea-middle2 .node a:visited {  background: url('images/arrow2.gif') no-repeat 100% 50% ;  padding-right: 9px;  border-bottom: 1px dotted #666;  color: #c60;  }

[tears] wow, you now know more about my site theme than I do! (ff web developer extension, am I right?)
I'm cssed-out for the time being but I'll try that later, thanks a bunch :)

Actually I used View Formatted Source in combination with the DOM Inspector which is installed with the developer tools (if you choose that option during Firefox install). When you mouse over the elements it will popup the styles applied to them and what files contain the style.

However, since drupal uses a rediculous number of styles and stylesheets (90% of which seem to just duplicate styles) the popup window is too tall for my browser and I couldn't see it all.

Another really usefull tool is FireBug. It works great, especially in combination with the WebDev toolbar extension, but it's still a bit unstable. In can use voracious ammounts of memory on buggy sites that rely heavily on &#106avascript's SetInterval(...function...) command.<br><br>
