Hey, I'm working on a 3D FPS, and I've got an ok website and forums up. www.feetpersecond.tk I've advertised it on about 4 forums, filled with 100's of dedicated airsofters, and yet, activity is low on the forums, and so is the user list. I was wondering if there's something I'm missing on the forums or website, if I need to have more to show of my game, be further in development, or if I'm not advertising (correctly?).

You site is broken...
All my posts are based on a setting of Medival Fantasy, unless stated in the post otherwise

What browser are you using? A few others are getting this problem, but the majority can view it.

Although I'm not a marketing expert myself, I'd be a bit more patient. Marketing an airsofting game by participating on airsofting forums seems like a pretty good plan, but if your website was only put up on the 1st of March (according to your website) then I wouldn't expect that many people to have drifted across to your forums yet. Keep up a presence on the airsofting forums, generally be helpful and offer some reason for people to participate on your forums (such as releasing more info on the game with your website), and you might attract more people over time.

Your definition of OK is very different from mine. Multiple pop-ups and "free domain name" advertising don't make for an enjoyable surfing experience.
As for the site itself it is basic in the extreme and has virtually no content - in short there is no reason for anyone to come to the site and nothing for them to discuss.

If you want to build a community you need content and regular updates. If you can't generate that then forget about trying to attract people until you have the game done and have something to show.

I would hardly call that "up". What happens for me is I'm loaded into a page with ads and banners, and a line that says "Click here to get into FPS: Feet per second" and I do see the link it's aiming at: feetpersecond.ath.cx, which doesn't exist.

You are missing the $9-20 it takes to register a domain. Or the $5-10 a month it takes to have a hosted domain on Yahoo or Angelfire. You are missing whatever it takes to successfully transfer someone to your actual site. Normally I don't even look when someone says "lolz i made a webpage chk it out", but I decided to look at yours.

You are missing an actual webpage and webhost.

Your site doesn't work, only the advertisement before your page works.
