When a company looks at a graduate, do they take into account if the degree was done online or not? Would they be predjuice to someone who got a degree online vs a traditional classroom enviroment?

you didn't click one of those "Earn a degree in minutes" spam e-mails did you?

Seriously though: I don't see why an employer would dislike someone studying a degree online, as long as the tests are genuine. They would probably ask you some questions about it because it is unusual for people to have a degree earned online.
ToDoList.GrowthRate = WorkRate*2, it's more efficient to not work.

If you feel discriminated against by prospective employers, feel free to send me a PM. I'll gladly help you sue their ass off, as I've got my law degree online.

Seriously tough, I, personally, WOULD probably discriminate against people showing me an online degree, unless it wasn't realistic for them to attend a meatspace college (late carreer move with a family to support, etc.)

I don't know how old you are, but to me, say, a 20 years old attending online college screams "I can't deal with society." I see them as a backup resource for those who have good reasons not to attend a 'real college' where the networking, social and professionnal interactions will be much richer and diverse.

You can see my opinion on the matter that I posted earlier here

Basically, if I was in a position to hire someone, I would hire a traditional college student over an online degree any day, and I explain why in that link. There are basically pieces that you get in a real college that cannot be emulated through the intarweb. In addition, most online schools just aren't of the calibre of "real" schools.

It's worth noting, however, that I probably wouldn't hire anyone from "unknown" schools either. If you are going to college, go to a good, well known school, or you will be at a disadvantage. The truth of the matter is that there are good, academic, research schools, and then there are all of the rest. The rest give you an education, yes, but not the SAME education. You can't beat a real research university. It is not only an education, but an EXPERIENCE.

I'll have to agree with traditional. Well initially. Once you have the degree, basic networking and basic knowledge, and everything else traditional school offers, keep your skills up to date with online material.

That and o rly books.
