Flipcode?

Original Post
Wasn't sure where else to put this. The front page of the forums looks radically different now, and wherever "gamedev" should be, it is replaced by "flipcode". All other pages look fine. Are you implementing Flipcode's forum software or something?
Sorry, didn't see the other thread, nice April Fool's joke, it sure got me [grin]
You know, it's really nice how we can see the latest threads at the top of the forums; can we keep it like this, or did I just not notice this section before? (I know there is a page with the latest threads, but they were never before displayed directly on the forum index).
Well now I just saw it.... and I like it!! Even if it is a April's Fool Joke can we have that as one of our forum "templates" (sorry forgot the word for it)?

Skin? Theme?
And yeah, it is pretty nice.

It's pretty disappointing that they only changed the main forum index. I had to go hunting to find the joke.
Is GDNet getting lazy? Previous years were a whole lot better.
If they were to change everything, the site would need to be down for a bit to make the change. It wouldn't be much of a surprise then, because people occupy this site round the clock. Also, the site was down alot recently, so I don't think they would want to put it down again so soon if they could help it. Just guessing though.

Nice assumptions.
Since you have all the answers, how can they change the forum index page without taking the site down?
Anyway, I'm disappointed. Boo. [depressed]
Flipcode is back????? Oh wait it's April fools.........har har. I was actually like whoa what is this as soon as I clicked on the forum link.

I don't have all the answers, just the right ones. [grin]
They could have easily sneaked in the flipcode page with the last update, which was less than a week ago, I think. It could be quite easy to switch one page with another, if both are already part of the site. Again, just guessing though. I know nothing of site coding.

No, no you don't. Of course you already decided there was a "site update" last week, so your lack of understanding was already getting a pretty low score. Make your choice: We go to the GDC, and do actual work on the site, or we spend all our time making a temporary page for April 1st.

Well to be fair, the site *was* down for several hours about a week and a half ago prior to the GDC saying we were performing maintenance. It wasn't an unreasonable assumption.

Actually, I'm glad you said that, Michalson. I've been forgetting to check the GDC info!
