Hey everyone, I'm coding a small site in JSP, and the problem I'm having is that I can't get an RTP Applet for streaming video to work. It's a bit difficult to explain it all, so you can have a look yourselves if you wish; HACP Site ( I'll leave my web server running ) just click "connect to server", then "security", then you'll see the error message. The code can be grabbed from my website; Alias Daedalus This is an aweful lot to ask, and I don't expect anyone to bother, but can anyone guide me to a tutorial somewhere that explains how to receive streaming video ( with code examples, preferably in java using rtp ) ? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Daed.

...Well that's odd, it might be working.

Very sorry, but this thread might have been a waste of time.

Okay, I think I've concluded that it isn't working.

So anyone know of any good tutorials or other ways to receive streaming video?

It seems the applet is now running, but the video isn't streaming.

Has anyone tried something similar in the past, I doubt I'm the only one ... am I !?.

Thanx Daed.

I'm installing JMF right now, but I believe it might be a little difficult to connect to a server that is not addressable on the Internet ;)

I was wrong the applet isn't running, still getting a null pointer exception.

I think I'll try and add the jmf.jar in the applet parameters, so that you all won't have to download it yourselves.

Are you accessing the site from your LAN?

I installed JMF and connected to the site and as far as I can tell, the applet is working.

I'm transmitting an rtp video stream, and I can receive that stream when with JMStudio, but nothing happens with my applet. I embedded it with;

...And typing this, just realised I'm using a local IP address, ugh gonna take a bit more time sorting this out me thinks.

Thanks for showing interest though people, I'm gonna need a little time to sort this out before its worthy for testing again.

Are there other ways to do this?

Thanx Daed.

Okay, I have an update on my video stream.

I have it working, but only on my machine's IP. Everyone else gets an "AccessControlException: Access Denied" shown in the java console, even on localhost.

I'm using a different class that I have edited to receive the stream;

AVReceiver

Any ideas how I can permit access to the stream ( I'm also port-forwarding on our router ).

Thanks alot, Daed.

EDIT:

Actually, I think I know....

EDIT:

...No I don't

Well, thanks to everyone who had a look anyway.

Hello,

I'm facing the same problem as with RTPPlayerApplet.java. I can't seem to have it work on receiving streams. I was wondering if you solved the problem in time. A quick response would be appreciated as i only have a week until deadline.

Thanks.
