Hi all, I have read many forum subjects that speak about whether to use the ordinary windows forms in making the game menus but they were all speaking about In-game menus that pop up over the gameplay screen. most of the answers were "don't". But my question is. how to use these windows forms and controls in the menus before and after the gameplay (ie. when the directx device is disposed). my problem is that when I leave the gameplay that is using the directx device, the screen sometimes still freezes on the last frame before I exit and the post-game menu doesn't appear (I have to press Alt-Tab to see it!). So I need to know the safe way to enter and exit from the gameplay to the windows menus (hide first? dispose first? show first ... etc..) I use Directx9 with VB.net.. and I use fullscreen mode for game and menus. (ps. it would be nicer if I don't jump for a second to see my desktop in between and back again to the game :) the player's mind will get out of the story.) thank you very much :)

A frozen last screen indicates that your 3D device is not closed right. You should check if you have disposed any 3d object that you have created.

i dispose the whole class that includes the 3d device and the vertex buffers etc after disposing the device itself.. but i do not dispose the meshes and textures because i don't want to reload them again from the hard disk when i go to gameplay again.. would this be the cause? and if it is, is there another way to maintain the meshes and textures loaded? i don't think i have to dispose every single mesh, texture, material, buffer,... etc.. this is so many :)
