[java] Write bits onto the console

how do I write bits onto the console? Or more specifically I have a String of 0s and 1s and I want to know how I can write them (packed 8 to the byte) onto the console? thanks.

I think I solved my own problem by using System.out.write(...) it takes in a char and prints out the byte version.
