My brother and I are starting a graphics business. He is the artist and I am the webmaster/laborer. Anyway, he is used to doing graphics in Corel because it is well suited for printing t-shirts and things. But we need decent looking web graphics and Corel does not seem up to the task. Before you throw the book at me about graphics not being the most important thing about a web site, please remember that this is a Graphics Business. Is there a program that "feels" similar to Corel that would be better suited to web graphics? The cheaper the better, because we will probably only use the program for the website graphics. Also, the more similar to Corel the better, again because we are only going to use it for the website, and my brother really doesn't want to learn a foreign program just for web graphics. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Are any of the above mentioned programs vector based?

I'm not sure, but when you asked that question I was reminded of Adobe Illustrator, which may be more up your alley. It's vector based and generally geared more towards producing web graphics. $499 price tag.

Paint Shop Pro X does support vector layers, though it isn't strictly vector based as it also supports raster layers. And though I don't have Photoshop, I've always assumed it also supported vector graphics at least as much as Paint Shop Pro. Also, if it isn't too late, you might still be able to get the Acrylic beta from Microsoft for free (not sure when it expires).
