C# Programmers Needed

Alright, here is the thing. I am building a game in C#. It text based, so no fancy graphics programmers needed. But it is a large project for someone of my somewhat limited C# knowledge. I am really using this as a learning project for me, so I am not looking for someone to code for me. Rather I am looking for 1-2 people to code with me. This project dosn't pay, as I already said it is mainly so I can learn. I am told Mud's are a great way to learn about programming so here is where I am starting. I already have a good base, which I would have no problem throwing away to start from scratch again since I am sure there are better ways to do most of what I have done. People that I would like to contact me ideally would be people with a strong knowledge of C# and its abilities. I would like 1 of the 2 people to be experienced in a team setting, preferably as a team leader, and also strong in C#. The other person only needs a strong base knowledge of C#, and would be more then welcome to use this as a learning project with me. I have done 1000 smaller programs in C#, and I know I am not ready to move up to a graphics game yet, though maybe in the future. Anyone interested please leave a note here or pm me, I can give you more specifics on the project if you want them at this time. Thanks for your time. Jesse Team name: No real ream name, and really needs none. However open to suggestions. ;) Project name: Again, name up in the works, since I have been concentrating on coding, not on naming of things. The game is already planned so the name can be derived from that plan at a later date. Brief description: A Mud written in C#, used as a learning project more then anything, though will be actively administered by me after it is released. Target aim: It will be a mud, normally means its free and no software need be distributed since it is played through a telnet client. Compensation: Should be rather obvious that I won't/can't pay for help on this. Though the help may very well be woth it. Anyone who applies should do so out of either a feeling of good will towards me, or the simple joy of programming a fun game. Or both, if you are so abundantly blessed. ;) Technology: Almost every, if not all computers with an internet connection. The end product is platform independent, though the server software will be windows only. Talent needed: C# Programmer: With a strong knowledge of C# and experience using the language. Preferably has experience with a team of programmers. C# Programmer: Has some knowledge of C# and programming concepts, more then willing to let you use this project to practice your C# abilities. Web programmer: Obviously for making the website, I can do it, but I have some ideas I would like to try that I know right now I dont have the skills for. Team structure: In total it is a small team of 2-4 people. Will be project lead(Me) and lead programmer. Website: None yet sorry. Contacts: languagefocus(at)prodigy.(net).(mx) Additional Info: If you have any questions regaurding project specifics, game theme, etc. feel free to pm or e-mail me at the above address. I just want to point out TigerMUD incase you hadn't seen it before.

I know about it, and another one. But I dont think you undestood the point of this project. It was to learn. It is very simple to take a bunch of code someone else has written and modify it here and there to make a game. The point of this project is to do it from scratch.

I don't have the time to devote to a project right now, but if you have any specific questions or stumbling blocks along the way, you're welcome to contact me. My email address is in my profile. Good luck!
"Game Programming" in an of itself does not exist. We learn to program and then use that knowledge to make games.

Oh I know I wasn't flaming or trying to discourage or anything like that. I just wanted to point out that codebase for research purposes.

I realize it was not a flame. Was not mad. I have looked at the TigerMud library, and another one called Suroden, they do things very differently from each other, and from how I think I would like to do them. I am still looking for people skilled in C#, and preferably who have played muds before/coded on muds before such as rom2.4b anyone interested please contact me.

Still looking for a couple people to help out.

I'd be happy to help out as much as I could, my C# skills need a bit of tuning up. I'm no expert, though.
