XML DOM + Java

Hey Everybody, I'm designing an adventure game engine in Java that stores its persistent data in XML files. The idea is that I have a game state class which holds a DOM document containing all of the state information. When the game is saved the document is simply written. When a game is loaded a document is read from an XML file. The document holds information on the location and state of every item and actor in the game. Actual information needed to construct an actor or item is stored in separate XML files. I have a feeling that as the game grows in complexity the amount of data stored in the document will become very big (although still smaller than image data for a given object). Does anyone have any "intuition" on the subject? Will the document become too big if I have maybe 200 objects in the game? If it becomes a problem my current solution is to break the game up into smaller modules. Maybe someone has a better idea? Thanks in advance! -AllTheLuck
