^&* you, Microsoft

<rant> I've been using Microsoft's OneNote quite a bit with my tablet pc, and it's a rather nice bit of software. Much easier than the mounting array of notebooks I've been using otherwise, but at £80 I wanted to be sure before forking out so I thought I'd use it until the end of the trial and see how things were going. About a week ago it poped up a 'please buy me' thingy, so I thought I might as well, with only a week of the trial left. Unfortunately their online shop was down at the time, so I left it. I havn't had a chance to use it between then and today. Just now I start it up, and it says it'll expire tomorrow. So I go to try and buy it again, this time the website is up, but after entering all the details it provides a non-helpful "connection error - please retry or try later". After four retries I think I'm out of luck (and I sure hope I didn't just buy x4 copies of it). So I try microsoft.com instead of their uk online shop, but unfortunately this requires IE (grr) and doesn't sell to any filthy terrorists (ie. anyone outside of the US). I have to close down OneNote to remove the "insert registration key" bit, and start it up again to actually do what I originally intended to. ...except, it's now ticked past midnight, so it's expired. Damn. I can't do a bloody thing with it now, and with the bank holiday it'll likely be tuesday until someone will fix their lousy website. Heres a hint MS: If I'm trying to give you money, making things harder for me isn't a good idea. </rant>

My sympathies, friend. You've no manner of luck at all. I sure hope you didn't just pay MS £320. That would be just awful. MS makes enough money as it is without screwing people into buying multiple copies of the same software.

Yes, because I am sure that a quick phone call to them wouldn't get him a refund for the 3 extra copies. LOL MICROSOFT IS EVIL!

Fixed. (and I agree, a simple call will fix it all up)

I dunno, they sent me $500+ worth of free shit, so I can't really complain I guess :P
Yeah, they are pretty good at giving free crap away. I'm pretty sure they've sent me more free stuff than i've bought from them.
I know I got a free USB key.. some free visual studio (although i've bought a couple copies of this too) and through my school a whole stack of their stuff.
I think i've gotten some programming books from them too, but i can't remember what.
They are so generous.
:)
