this isnt a formal team request or offer, was looking around and i noticed that most of these projects are pushing for commercialized sales and tryna take the throne so to speak. I will be completely honest, I am ambitious, but I know my limitations and I am by standards a rank ametuer, but.... im a rank ametuer in just about everything, i can run a sound board\do sound production, i know high end modelers (tho no sdk's) as well as low poly modeling i can do graphics\textures, i know basic visual c++ (basic as in, the main stuff, how to do classes, the diff variable types, enough to be able to read and understand source code for the most part) but yeah, all as a jack pretty much, so all these 3d rpgs and huge scale omg projects are a little daunting to someone like me, as the only thing i think when i see them is that im gonna drag people down and get kicked off before i learn anything, so my proposal is simple, a loose kind of team for the jacks in the audience, laid back atmosphere of us just helping and learning from each other while prototyping some small scale games, you know, stuff to pad your demo disk with for jobs, and the team work experience most of us definitely lack and could use, and hey if we get to a point where we all feel we can tackle something bigger, we can go for it, im not sure how this is going to go over, so at the moment i dont have anything set up, im more just testing the water to see if anyone else would enjoy a team like this (We can think up a name when we have enough people to be a "team") honestly, ive never led a team before, more of the lone wolf variety (which explains all the rudementary skills in every field), but im a great grease man, and the goal would be to educate and give us all some real experience, so later on we could hang with some of the bigger dogs on the porch. god that was rather ranty, anyway milfus(at)hotmail(dot)com, my only request is that there are no completely clueless people(people who havent tried to educate themselves, weak skills not no skills), like atleast have a few decent fundamentals in something, dont gotta be much, and the ability to see this for what it is, an opportunity to have some fun and make yourself better opportunities by doin some fluff games and what not (youd be amazed how much you can learn by setting your sights low and incrementing them with every success, almost every book i have ever read and successful programmer ive ever talked with fully condones that this is appropriate and highly effective) basicly, if you can make a hello world app from scratch and know how to find stuff that you might need to know(msdn and whatnot) and you want some milage and to cultivate your skills, this is for you
