What is your stand on this program do you think it is good? bad? Is it good? Can it be used to make commerical 3d games?

While most people will tell you differently, I believe that Blitz3d could be used to make a commercial game, provided that you put a lot of time and effort into the game. As a programming language, I think it's great: easy syntax, quick development, and many cool effects. Granted, you will not get the power and lower-level access that you would get with a combination such as C++ and DirectX, but this access is not always needed. Lastly, if you are the only one programming the game, Blitz3d is a great choice, as it does not require knowledge of 3d maths and the like. A single programmer is bound to get more done with Blitz3d than C++ with DirectX in a short amount of time.

There are alot of commercial games (more than you would think) that have been created in blitz (2d,3d,plus, etc)

I suggest using it only if you want to make some games, don't know about commercial. It is not as big as an educational tool as something like C# later down the road. It will teach you game design if this is what your after. I don't feel it will teach you what you need if you intend to eventually do this as a career.

I used it before I moved onto C++ and C#. I found in a damn fine language - its biggest plus is that its so easy to get things done quickly in. It also comes with a large section of useful tutorials and examples so its very easy to get up and started with.

Basically, it doesn't really matter to much what language you are using unless your working on Half Life 3 or something. If you use Blitz then you are going to be able to create something decent to show of to your friends quicker than you would with C++. You will also learn basic programming practices, most of which are transferrable from language to language.

As for professional games made with Blitz the only released games that I can name of the top of my head are from www.mulawa.net - though these are more indie games than anything else.
