Hello ppl, I'm currently working on a paper about games, and I'm required to write a introduction that talks a bit about the current state of the game market and such. So I'm looking around the net for at least a half-decent article that has some information like how much the industry has moved in the last FY or how much of the entertainment industry games are. Right now I'm seeking article that compares the games industry with movies. If anyone can point me to anything related, I'd very thankful. Thanks anyway, Heavy Storm

I haven't had the time to verify if it meets your exact needs, but this pdf, titled "2006 SALES, DEMOGRAPHIC AND USAGE DATA: ESSENTIAL FACTS ABOUT THE COMPUTER AND VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY," comes courtesy of our friends at the ESA. A cursory scan reveals that it is certainly chock-full of concrete figures though.

Not sure if you can us it for your paper though (I don't see why not considering it's a professional's board with many of the users writing published articles).
