Free Visual Studio 2005 Standard -- Offer extended

Yep. I got mine. Best deal around.

You might want to put the "Standard" part in the title. I though this was some really late topic about Express Edition being free forever at first.

Anyhow, thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about this.

I got mine, but the stupid mail service (probably the local C-Ville carriers) royally smashed the box up. Thankfully the CDs weren't damaged, but the free book got ownt, as did what appeared to be the remains of a CD case.

I don't get it. I have already downloaded their webcasts, did I miss something? Can anyone provide step-by-step of what I have to do in order to be considered eligible? Is there a confirmation email? Anyone?

Unfortunately, yes. If you weren't aware of it, you can however download the Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition for free, but the Standard Edition offer is only available to US residents.

I got mine too.

I completed another offer and got the Visual Studio "Discovery" kit as well.

Anyone know if this is for non commercial use only or any other such limitations for use?

It is the FULL standard edition, with the normal license.

Mine just arrived today, much to my surprise. I completed the requirements for the offer quite some time ago, but never received the confirmation email others had.

So, even if you have given up hope that it will come, it just takes a while.

All I can say is....sweet. Just completed all my requirements, now the long wait for it to ship...

Exactly the same thing happened for me. I recieved it a day or two ago with no warning. I was wondering what DPL Corp was and why they were sending me packages.

/I don't think anyone received an email confirmation. I know there was a message to that effect on the website once you watched the videos, however.

I was under the impression that an e-mail would be sent. Apparently Im_wasting_my_life was under the same impression.

Oh well. The point is, it works, and it will be like a late birthday present when you get it.

I had received an email (one of a plethora, actually). IIRC the title was "your gifts have shipped", or something similar. It may have be caught by your spam filter, if you have one.

I'm in Canada and I got mine about a month ago. Did they change the requirements to US only?

Sigh, I guess us Europeans will have to pay for our copies ... At least we had the chance of downloading the Express editions.
