You need to check to make sure you haven't included too many include files.

Also you might have added too many directories to the project directory listing.

Which software and version are you using?
Managed or unmanaged ?

Is that the only 1 message or are there several saying a similar file name hence the bla bla parts or are there more messages? Maybe give us an exact message or two to give us a better idea.

I've not come across that message in any of my versions with any of my DirectX versions so cannot imagine anything more specific.

If it's managed, your problem is probably because you're including:

both Microsoft.DirectX Version 2
and Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D Version 1.something

Both of these assemblys have a microsoft.directx.direct3d.device.
The Version 2 assembly already includes direct3d and all the other components.

Axiverse is probably right. The DirectX SDK ships with both the MDX1.1 assemblies and the MDX2.0 beta. You shouldn't use the beta, so remove this reference from your project's references section and your troubles *should* be solved. For more info on this, check out zbuffer's page on the subject.

Error 1 The type 'Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Device' exists in both 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC\Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D\1.0.2902.0__31bf3856ad364e35\Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll' and 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC_32\Microsoft.DirectX\2.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\Microsoft.DirectX.dll' C:\deneme\src\deneme.cs 18 30 D3DUT

this is the error
