Till now I have been using windows only. Now,I want to learn about Linux. Can any one tell me which one should I download and from where. I have heard about Redhat, ubuntu, mandrake...I really have no idea about them
Ubuntu seems pretty popular these days. I've tried it a while back and it's very easy to install and get started.

Google
If you like the KDE desktop more then Gnome, but still want to use Ubuntu, you'll want to have a look at Ubuntu's KDE brother: Kubuntu.

Moved to Everything Unix.

I use Ubuntu.
Same for me. I.m.o it's a good choise to go for Ubuntu because it's in the middle of intense development and the boards are very busy, and friendly to give new users help. And they try to get every 6 months a new release .If i wouldn't go for Ubuntu I think i'd try Fedora but i'm fine now.
