This may be the hour I'm typing it at but. . . I've been thinking about the articles I've read in the past, and those I read recently. I know there have been some articles regarding the various stages of game development, but I was thinking something along the lines of starting a project, a full-blown professional work, not a Tetris clone, detailing the major phases of the development, pitfalls, and lessons learned. This may be overly ambitious, but maybe even a scaled down game, with major points identified would be useful to the forum at large. If this was already written, please link to it in your response. .. and blame it for being 1 in the morning.
You have just been PUNK'D!No. . . just your comments. They were totally, fully, and completely demolished. Nothing to do with MTV...

You might find some of the postmortems interesting. Though most of them are a little old and don't go into that much detail. They also link to gamasutra (which might or might not require you to register there).
