I don't think anyone has started one of these in a while.

"Linux lived, Linux lives, Linux will live!" Yes, it's my Windows background. I'm not a zealot mmk. WALLPAPER, SOURCE IMAGE photoshopped by le Ra. If anyone can find a higher-res image of this poster that'd be appreciated.

I don't have a screenshot, but I used to have a desktop background with Lenin on it as well. It was just a standard Russian propaganda poster, though.

Yes, I got no icons. I launch programs by right click on my wallpaper. For curious, it's Debian Linux powered by Compiz + Xgl.

Here's mine:

I use the Windows desktop search (found in the lower right corner of my taskbar) to launch most programs and to find documents, and if it cannot find something I'll resort to the start menu.

Yep. (Well, that's one desktop - the other machine is a little more powerful and has a little more eyecandy, since it's mainly used for gaming and playing with hardware acceleration.) It's a little unique, since I'm using xtdesk; for instance , the MusicPD icon can start, stop, and kill mpd, as well as fast-forwarding, rewinding, loading playlists, skipping songs, etc. Also, the didiwiki icon starts a didiwiki server, and connects my browser to it.
