Weirdo problem...

I am doing some minor code changes this evening, nothing too drastic and all of a sudden when I start the application from Visual Studio, it hangs for like 5 seconds before the program starts. I havent changed any program options or messed with any debugging settings. After I press debug->start, the normal stuff happens like the dll loading messages in the debugging window. After the debug messages flash by it just sits there for 5 seconds, as I said. I then commented everything out of WinMain so none of my resources load (the program does nothing except create a plain window), and it still hangs. Normally, after the debug messages are displayed it starts right up. Besides the hanging before everything starts it works fine. I have been working in Visual Studio for 2 years and nothing strange like this has ever happened. Any ideas of what I could have done to cause this??

I have no idea what could be causing that kind of behaviour, so I'm just guessing here...

Create an other project (e.g Hello World!) and see if it also hangs. If it doesn't, it's very likely that something has gone wrong with your project settings/files. Create a new project and insert your source files to it and try if it still hangs. You said you commented everything out except WinMain, this sounds to me like that it's very likely that creating a new workspace with your original source files will fix the problem, what ever is causing it...

Ya, I have other projects that work fine. I decided I will setup a new project and just insert the old source files into it. I am pretty sure that would fix it too. I dont like the the idea that I can break VS without even knowing it :/
It shows me how little I actually know about how VS actually works.
