Hello everyone. I want to render a few quads over a video background. This video is actually 3000 individual images. I tried loading an image each frame and painting it on a big quad, but thats too slow. Is there a quick way to directly display an image, without going through a convertion to texture ? Thanks ! I've seen this tutorial, its nice but not quite what I need.
Note that the video is downsampled to 256x256 pixels.
I need 800x600 so I need to upsample the video to 1024x1024,
which slows down the frame rate to a crawl.

is there a simple way to dump a 800x600 jpg to the screen ?
Thanks !

you don't need to upsample at all, just only update the 800*600 portion of the texture and set your texture coords to match the data size.
