Game needed for music video

We need a video game that can be played royalty free as a prop in a music video being shot on August 28th in Falls Church Virginia? The title of the rock song being recorded is Video Games. The recording location has two TV monitors next to the stage and it is perfect for the playing of a video game as the "concert" is being recorded. You can hear the song at http://blackout123.blogspot.com/ You can see the location at http://www.thestatetheatre.com/ Click on Private Events to view the stage and monitors. If we can find a video game for use we will give credit to the author/designer. The video will be of a three member ten year old band performing on stage for an audience of about 100 kids of the same age. We cannot guarantee this music video will get widespread distribution but the group has become popular in the Northern Virginia area and we hope the music video will give them a boost to developing this song. Please let me know if you can help me with this. Thanks, Jerry ------- Jerry Watson 6849 Old Dominion Drive #320 McLean, VA 22101 USA Phone: 703-749-3131 Fax: 703-749-3132 watson@mouselink.net
The song is fun.

It happens to strike a chord with me. It sounds like the targets of the song are addicted and need some help; some people are way too addicted to games and forget games are just that: games. That is, games are an entertainment medium and should not replace real life. [looksaround]

Back on topic, I'm just curious about a few things.

Are you looking for actual games, or just a simple prop that sort of looks game-ish?

Would it be a problem when you cut between camera angles and the game is obviously completely different? Or do you need something that is generally uniform in apperence? Would it need to stay in sync with your video at all?

Does the mock-game need its own audio?

Are you looking for any particular genre?

In your song you only talk about console games, and a kid sitting in front of a giant monitor playing a PC game seems odd to me. Are you looking for PC games or do you have a preference for games that can be played with a controller rather than a PC keyboard and mouse?

From the music and floor plan I can easily imagine multiple games going on. I can imagine different screens with a platformer or two, a kart game, RTS, and maybe a FPS or two. If your target audience is minors, I'd stay away from showing a FPS game or anything that would be above the ESRB Teen rating.

I hope this part dosn't derail the topic: How you will be dealing with their screens when you record them? The floor plans show both projectors and TVs. Were you planning on using just the projectors, or using their TVs as well?

I know that I don't have the free time for that kind of project, but a little clarification might help others who are interested.

Finally, this might be better off in the Help Wanted forum.
