C++ Sql Api

I am looking for a SQL C++ api that is most common.(i am using ms sql server 200/2005).My program should write very much data to database .(software will be client sided).ıt will first connect to server and then write data to database.i need a cross platform api ...(which i can use in mysql/sql server etc..)

The SQL API is dependant on the database you're connecting to. You might be able to get some generic library I suppose, but there's none I know of.

SQL is just a language that databases use, not a way to interface to a programming language.

I know Java has ODBC stuff (I had to use it for my uni project), I never realised it was a generic interface and not Java specific.

Somthing to keep in mind about ODBC drivers. ODBC drivers are slower then specific drivers for the database, they also miss out on some of the special ablities that the specific drivers have. If you are not going to be do lots of transactions and not use any of the special features then ODBC will work.
