Inline assembly is CPU and compiler dependent (just a warning). For Visual Studio, you just use __asm and then use NASM style assembly code. Also note a compiler will be severely restricted on the optimizations it can safely attempt with mixed in assembly code.
To learn ASM better, I'd look at NASM documentation and any assembler tutorials. Most non-beginner tutorials will cover C calling conventions, etc. Here are some links. Best of luck.
