Uh, a mixture of C++ compilers, IDEs, and multimedia tools? ;)

Same here. Are you looking more for a list of 'Point and Click' like programs like Game Maker and Games Factory?

There's no "magic bullet" game maker.

There's no "magic bullet" game maker.

Except for Common Lisp.

Well, someone had to.

Eclipse for Java projects, because it's Eclipse.
And I will now be using my very own copy of Visual Studio 2005, which I received brand new today from a friend for free. Very cool gift.

For BASIC, Freebasic.
For C/C++, Devcpp bundle.
For ASM, TASM or FASM.

Editors: Not much of an artist. But I have used and are still using these GIMP, Lightwave, Mappy, pp256.

I cant use most of those programs because I lack C++ knowledge :(

- emacs
- gcc
- ocaml
- gimp
- blender
- firefox to access documentation

Most of them because they are good for my productivity. Still looking for the ultimate C++ editor with "working" autocompletion!

Well, I usually use:

Visual Studios EE 2005 C++
Gimp
InkScape
Code::Blocks
Notepad (everyone loves notepad)
Audacity (but only rarely since I tend to skimp out on the audio part of my game)

And if I'm using Python, I use the Python IDLE program for that. I used to use Stagecast before moving into programming.
RedRingRico
RedRingRico
- MS VC++.NET 2003
- GIMP 2.2
- Caligari GameSpace Light (I'm cheap)

That's about it, though I may buy the actual version of a 3D modeling program. Maybe.

Darklaga was written using VC++ 6 and compiled using the eVC++ compiler. Graphics were edited in Photoshop 6 and Paint Shop Pro, and I don't know what sound editor the music artist used. Custom resource files were written using notepad. The level editor was written using Borland C++ Builder 4, and the resource compiler/packer using Objective Caml and system calls.

I am now working in C# with Visual Studio .NET 2003 (although I guess I could use .NET 2005 if I could find where I put the CDs after I burned them, because I'm too lazy to download it again).
