Any sample code for web based small multiplayer game?

Hello. I am thinking about write a small web based multiplayer game. May be in java. It should have a lobby so user can loggin and see who is online and then join a small group so they can play together. Any sample code available? Any suggestions? Thanks Tom

No, probably I wont be able to participate in your php game design.
I am more into conventional java online game.
