How do I use a model created in modeling software in DirectX? I really dont want to manually define each point! Ive found referance to a .x file, but no easy 3D apps that support it. Any tips? Mike

I did some quick research and Blender can export to the DirectX File Format using add-on Python scripts. Milkeshape3D also advertises support for the file format.

Autodesk's website frusterates me and thus stopped my search for DirectX File Format support on the popular Maya & 3DSMAX software applications. I would be extremely surprised if you could not get support for the required format with either application using 3rd party plugins.

I'll leave the finer points to those with more experience with these kind of software applications. It has been well over 5 years since i did anything serious in 3D modelling.
