I was coding around yesterday and (bear with me I'm a n00b), got alpha blending on a texture to work so I filtered out the black background off my texture!!! YIPEE!!! What's everyone elses biggest accomplishments with programming? Mine was back in my senior year of high school. Programmed a full game with randomizing, character selection, and a 'go where you want to' feel all in VB6 during the first 4 mo. of my programming life hehe.

My first really significant accomplishment was a 2D ASCII-art platformer, using color palette shifting for animation. It was a birthday/Christmas/whatever present for my dad, as I recall.

My biggest (thus far) was the Game of the Year edition of X3.

Well, outside of work, probably writing my own debugger. It took forever, having not only having to learn the x86 assembly, as well as the actual op codes, but also learned about how executables work, etc.

Very informative, and helped me learn a lot more than any of the classes I took in college.

I wrote a fairly simple raytracer a few years ago. It was quite fun.

my very first win32 application made it as a prank on robrob8.com, I got my first nonclone game hosted on bonus.com. My greatest accomplishment I think so far is my work automator that I made to go through these spreadsheets I have to at work allowing me to have the productivity of at least 12 people while surfing gamedev.net, I'm so hard at work right now :P

I don't know what to call my biggest accomplishment, so I'll stick to the topic title and name my first: programming a 2D space shooter in Q-BASIC called "Space Zone".

My first programming accomplishment was a text adventure in BASIC. My greatest programming accomplishment was a breakout clone written in C++ with DirectX.

"What are you trying to tell me? That I can write an O(N^2) recursive solution for a 2-dimensional knapsack?" "No, programmer. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to." -Adapted from "The Matrix"

This was my first (and only) programming accompishment. I haven't really coded anything since then. I'm proud of it.

My first major achievement was creating a VB mockup of the Windows 95 dial-up networking dialog box. My friend's dad wouldn't tell him the password, so I created the mockup to simply save the password to a secret text file and put up a fake "Busy signal...please try again later" dialog. The plan went of without a hitch and we enjoyed many an hour of web enjoyment.
