Hi everyone! I have a project that uses SMD file for the model and the animation. But i have a problem in designing the animation, the animation like jumping, walking, etc. I have already use Milkshape 3D to design it, but it is very difficult for me to create a walking animation in about 40 frames, :( I've try to use 3DSmax to design it, but the problem is when i import the SMD file in 3DSmax, the imported bone don't link each other. Can anyone recommend me the other software to design it? Software that can import SMD file?

I have got the max payne animation (Imported from Milk Shape 3D).
It implemented walking animation in about 40 frames, and it look cool i think.
That why, i think 40 frames is enough.
:)

Ok, anyway Thanx for your response.

You could possibly take a look at blender? That, imho is pretty easy to get animation setup in. I made a walking animation in 4 keyframes, they need to be interpolated for smooth effect though. Blender should be able to import SMD with a plugin, there are a lot of plugin scripts availible for it.

Also, blender is totally free, but don't expect it to be pick up and use, you will need to google for tutorials to figure out the most basic things till you get your bearings in it.

SMD Importer for Blender.
