Hi all, I'm looking for an overview of the best games ever. I'm planning on making a comparisson as to why, what they have in common and what differs. So far I was only able to dig up http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y but the results are based on rather few votes. So would anyone happen to know of a good resource I could use? Thanks in advance.

GameSpot has a list along with some pretty significant exposition as well.

Gamespy.com had a championship grudge match for the ultimate game ever back in 2004. I believe it started off where the readers nominate their favorite games and the editors picked the best of the bunch to go into each "bracket". Then, each game is put "head-to-head" (so to speak) with another game and readers vote which of the two they like best and the winner would move up to the next level, etc., etc. The above link is the outcome of the whole mess ;-)
