Hi, sorry if this has been posted but I'd like to tell you about it. Goodsearch.com is a search engine powered by yahoo, where each search done is a penny towards a charity of your choice. I think it is a great system, and if you guys are willing to use it, and do not know of a charity to support, may I suggest Project Sister Sexual Assault Crisis located in Claremont, CA. My mother volunteers her time for it, and it is a Rape Victim's Advocate where volunteers are trained to help alleviate the pain that goes with being a victim of sexual assault. It is a non-profit organization. So the next time you guys need to do a search, please do it with Goodsearch.com Also, please dont spam random letters or nonsense to boost donations as it will result in a deletion of the charity. Thanks so much!
Too bad Yahoo Search isn't very good.

Dude you can get a Russian botnet on IRC for $.10 a machine. If you really want to do some good in this world, you should get a couple million of them and do a hundred searches on each box.
And then get your charity disabled, and possibly the whole project shut down when they realize there are just too many asses taking advantage of the situation.

The only thing I don't like is their new "improved" absurdly busy home page
That's actually the main reason I switched to Google way back when. Going anywhere near Yahoo makes me think I've descended to the 9th circle of marketing hell. Google is clean and uncluttered and doesn't ram the ads and tie-ins down my throat with a plunger.

No you are not thinking big enough, that is your problem. After you run the first hundred searches and get the first charity disabled, you randomly choose a new one. Then you rotate through all of them. To keep the goodsearch people happy you also program the machines to randomly click on ads.
This would fly.
Well, not sure what the deal is with the goodsearch thing. Seemed to work fine yesterday, but now I see it not returning many results. So I ran it with regular Yahoo and got different results (about 100 times more results). So not sure what it's running, but it's not the normal yahoo searches. :(

From the GoodSearch FAQ page
Fifty percent of the revenue generated from advertisers is shared with the charity, school or nonprofit organization of your choosing.

Probably a miux of operational costs and Yahoo! for supporting the service. If 50% makes it to the charities, that's already much more efficient than most charities.
