both handles DX, unmanaged languages are generally a tiny bit faster but the difference isn't big enough to worry about.

i would generally avoid using .Net with C++ since its a bit awkward, either use C#.Net with MDX or unmanaged C++ with DX

ofcourse it is possible to use both languages together aswell (one of the advantages of .Net is that you can mix languages quite easily within a project)

In a situation like this, use what you're most comfortable with (which sounds like C#). Both languages are fit for the purpose so use the one you're more likely to write good code in.

You signed up just to ask this? It does seem a bit flame baity to me, esp as there are a few other threads around here that already going in to all of this. Still I will assume you are on the level.

Look through the recent threads and you'll see lots of differing views.

If in doubt, just go with what you know. Both languages can yield good results and can do the things you ask... in the right hands.

If you're planning on writing managed code, I'd go with C#. It's similar enough to C++ that the learning curve should be low for your teammate, and it integrates much better. Managed C++ on the other hand is a hack of GC mechanisms into C++, which is a hack of OOP mechanisms into C, which is a hack of functions and strucutres into portable assembly.

If the question is a debtate over wheither or not to use managed code, then that's a whole different argument.
